Greener Photography is a new organization dedicated to using common sense in making the photography industry less impactful on the environment. I believe that we have been given stewardship over all of God’s creation and that we are expected to be good stewards of all things: our selves, our families, our work, our finances, and our physical world. Along with outstanding ecological organizations such as Friends of Texas Wildlife, I heartily endorse Greener Photography and their goals. I voluntarily adhere to their pledge:
Greener Photography Pledge
We believe that we have a responsibility to protect the environment. As members of Greener Photography, we are committed to environmentally-friendly practices and to encouraging change within our industry. Within our own businesses and in doing business with others, we are committed to these objectives:
- to comply with all applicable environmental regulations and to strive to exceed compliance
- to conserve energy, water, and other natural resources
- to develop and implement practices that prevent pollution and waste
- to offer products to our clients that are environmentally-friendly, conservation quality, locally-made and/or cruelty-free
- to be a source for change within our industry by encouraging other photographic businesses to be environmentally responsible
